Welcome to the high seas

Drink, eat, sleep, repeat

Holland America
weekly grocery list to feed 1,350 passengers & 560 crew.

  • eat

If you’ve ever been to an all inclusive resort, same same. Buffets, specialty dining, room service, etc.

Most cruisers opt to do most meals in the buffet simply due to time and convenience, choosing to save the dining experience for the evenings.
Buffets are typically continental style with a variety of options, some ships more than others.

If you have any dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, gluten free, it’s always best to check with the respective cruise line to ensure they can accommodate your needs.

  • drink

Most drinks and cocktails are upwards of USD $10 + 15-20% automatic gratuity

There’s no two ways about it.
If you like your alcohol (beer, wine, spirits), get a drink package.

Packages range between USD $50-70 per person per day.

Just as a heads up, some cruiselines have daily drink limits for certain packages.

  • more

Most major cruiselines offer specialty dining options and brand name restaurants onboard.

From Guy’s Burger Joint, to Jamie's Italian, and even Umi Uma, brought to you by master chef Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa.

Dining fees can vary, but typically range from $30-70 per person.
If you like trying new food and taking advantage of all dining experiences, we highly recommend dining packages as they’ll save you lots of money.
