entertainment
You can expect a variety of entertainment onboard most larger cruiselines. What we’ve learned is this; the smaller the ship, the smaller the entertainment, and in some cases almost non existent.
On the larger vessels (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess) you can expect a large cast of performers; singers, dancers, musicians, etc.
The shows will range singer/guitarist performing at one of the pubs onboard, tribute shows, to large scale almost Broadway and Cirque Du Soleil-like shows.
Special guest appearances from well known comedians to finalists from The Voice.
Pro Tip:
Go to the shows, all of them. Period.
You’d be surprised just how incredible some of these performances are. But it’s hit or miss, so…
activities
Much like the entertainment, the larger the ship, the more vast the activities. On the larger vessels, everything from trivia, bingo, sports, arcades, karaoke, bowling, bumper cards and much more.
Carnival ships tend to have water slides while Royal Caribbean, as they tend to do, take things a bit further with a number of attractions including the rock climbing wall, FlowRider (surf simulator) and iFly (indoor skydiving).
