hi friends! thanks

for stopping by.

Shortly after coming home from her adventure,
two things were clear

  1. Kim loved life at sea, and

  2. Mateo also had to be on board - in every sense of the word.

On April 20, 2012, Kim embarked on her first cruise ship with Art on Royal onboard the Sapphire of the Seas. Her first contract took her to multiple ports through the Japanese Islands, South Korea, Shanghai, Beijing, and Vladivostok. All in just short of 6 months.

Eight years later, we have sailed and worked both together as a team and independently, on different ships.

Traveling as a vendor surely came with its perks. At the top of the list would have to be the guest privileges with freedom to roam every port anytime the ship is docked.

A typical 90-day stretch

  • Monday fly Toronto to Vancouver, -3 hour time change

  • Tuesday join ship on an Alaska itinerary

  • 27 days later…Monday, fly Vancouver to Shanghai

  • Arrive in Shanghai Wednesday, 30 hour flight, +15 hour time change

  • Thursday, join ship doing Japan itinerary

  • 29 days later, Friday, fly Shanghai to Sydney, yes Australia

  • Arrive in Sydney Saturday morning, 13 hour flight, +3 hour time change

  • Sunday, join ship doing South Pacific itinerary

  • 30 days or less, repeat

Royal Caribbean Independence of the Seas
January 5 - May 21, 2015 (136 days)

“It is not that life ashore is distasteful to me.
But life at sea is better.”

— Sir Francis Drake, Sea Captain
